The converj story
Varghese Abraham was working at Visa when a friend’s friend, who ran a successful logistics start-up, approached him to figure out if his working capital needs can be met using commercial credit cards. For B2B payments, these cards would need to adapt to different rates and varying tenures to enable working capital flows.
Recognising a need gap and armed with a small cheque written by the same friend, Varghese quit Visa to start a B2B payments firm that used cards to solve several problems in trade finance.
Parry Ravindranathan who had coincidentally just quit Bloomberg as the President and MD International of Bloomberg’s Media business, joined him as co-founder and CEO. Varghese and Parry always imagined Converj as a global business. Since then, Converj has built a world class team and has been working with Banks and Networks to create unique B2B Credit products over card rails.
Our leadership team got a further boost when Manish Daswani , who used to head Commercial & Money Movement Solutions (CMS) business for Visa in India & South Asia, joined as Chief Business Officer.
